WATERVLIET, Mich. (AP) -- A prosecutor in southwestern Michigan has filed criminal charges against five people in the death of a 16-year-old boy who died of a prescription drug overdose at a New Year's Eve party.Mason Mizwicki died after consuming methadone at a house in Watervliet in Berrien County. (AP) -- A woman who learned she was pregnant after surviving a car crash has given birth -- in a car.The Herald-Palladium reports that the baby arrived Wednesday while Krista Howard was being driven by her mother to a St. Joseph hospital during a snowstorm in southwestern Michigan.Mary Safranek says she was just minutes away from Lakeland Medical Center, but the baby wouldn't wait. Two men arrested after shooting gun

WISCONSIN RAPIDS (WAOW) -- Two men have been taken into custody by the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department after firing a gun early Saturday morning, according to a press release.Officials from the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department say they were dispatched to Grove School/Sampson Street/Shady Lane areas around 3:15 a.m. Saturday for multiple reports of gunshots.According to the press release, the gunshots continued for nearly an hour.

DOJ will continue prescription drug disposal effort

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The state will take the lead in collecting and disposing of unused prescription drugs, now that the federal program has ended.The Wisconsin Department of Justice says it will provide personnel and logistics for disposing of the excess drugs.
