Lawmakers remove clause to not strip DNR board of power

Lawmakers removed a clause from Republican Gov. Scott Walker's proposed state budget on Wednesday that would have stripped the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources' board of its power, saying the Legislature is too divided on the issue to consider the idea as part of the broader spending plan.
